Students in Chelsea Zehnacker's Grade 7 English Language Arts (ELA) classes at Marlboro Middle School recently participated in a fun learning project that had them feeling like they were starring in their own version of the reality TV show "Shark Tank."
Teams of students had one month to build a company and design a product that they then presented to a panel of investors, which included Marlboro teachers and administrators, as well as special guest Ed Mackey from the Milton Fire District.
The teams were judged on their creativity, knowledge of their product, professionalism, and marketing strategies. Examples of products included a stuffed animal that doubled as an essential oil diffuser, a temperature-controlled travel mug, and an elastic water bottle strap, which the investors deemed perfect to use while exercising.
Hats off to these budding young entrepreneurs!
