Marlboro Middle School will be hosting an orientation for Grade 6 students and new students, as well as their parents, on Thursday, August 29. To ensure that there is ample time to answer all questions and address any concerns, there will be two sessions for orientation.
Listed below are the start times for each session:
Students whose last name begin with A-L: 8:30 AM in the Band Room
Students whose last name begin with M-Z: 10:30 AM in the Band Room
The faculty, staff and I are eager to do everything they can to make sure that each child has a smooth transition into the Middle School. Communication between home and school is crucial to ensure each child’s success. If students begin their middle school experience with a positive attitude and demonstrate a willingness to work with their teachers and administrators, we can join in a partnership that will result in a successful school year.
The following is some basic information that will help you to begin the school year successfully:
● Schedules, homeroom and locker assignments will be distributed at our orientation. Students are to report to their homeroom on the first day of school.
● Student safety is important to us, as we know it is to you. Students will not be permitted to enter the building before 7:16 a.m. on any school day, since supervision will not be available until after this time.
● Each student will receive a student agenda. The front section of the book contains the student handbook/code of conduct. Please take the time to read through the handbook with your child. It is important that everyone is familiar with the information and practices in this section.
● Please review our website, as we update it frequently to keep you informed of upcoming events.
● We have a very active Parent Teacher Association and I encourage you to become a member of the organization. Sign up will be available at orientation.
We look forward to seeing everyone at orientation on August 29!
