Marlboro Middle School students may have had a half-day on March 10, but that didn’t stop them from squeezing in a few hours of education and fun as they rotated through a variety of workshops and activities throughout the morning.

Some of the activity choices included cooking, rock painting, yoga, board games, slime making, ultimate Frisbee, cornhole, and more. There was also a scavenger hunt and workshops that explored STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) topics, as well as a popular mindfulness project that involved making calming jars using glitter and colored water.

According to Middle School Principal Debra Clinton, the purpose of the morning was to give students the opportunity to take a break from their normal routines and explore hobbies and interests outside of the classroom. The workshops encouraged the Dukes to try new things while also helping to strengthen a sense of support and belonging throughout the school.

From the looks of it, the program achieved just that!
