The Marlboro High School (MHS) Art Department is proud to announce that several students have won top honors in the 2024-2025 Hudson Valley Region Scholastic Art Awards competition.

A total of 38 students entered this year’s competition, earning 10 Gold Keys, 13 Silver Keys, and 12 Honorable Mentions. A regional awards ceremony for Gold and Silver Key recipients will be held on Friday, February 7, at SUNY New Paltz’s Studley Theatre from 7 to 9:30 PM. Students’ work will be on display in the college’s Rotunda Gallery immediately following the ceremony, and the exhibition will run through March 2. Gold Key winners will advance to the national level for judging and, if selected, will be honored at Carnegie Hall in June.

MHS Art teachers Amy Tremblay and Rachel Burroughs expressed pride in their students and excitement for the opportunity for several young artists to compete at the national level. “These awards reflect not only the talent of our students but also their dedication to developing their artistic voices,” Tremblay said. “It’s inspiring to see their hard work and creativity recognized on such a prestigious platform.”

The Scholastic Awards is the nation's longest-running recognition program for creative teenagers and the largest source of scholarships for talented young artists and writers. Submissions are judged by luminaries in the visual arts, with panelists seeking works that exemplify originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision.
