The Marlboro High School Art Department is pleased to announce that several students have won top honors in the 2023-2024 Regional Scholastic Art Awards competition!
Thirty-one students participated in this year’s contest, entering a total of 162 works of art. Among these, 12 pieces earned Gold Keys, 7 won Silver Keys, and 27 received Honorable Mentions. Marlboro also had one student—Sophia Montalbano—receive the American Visions Award for Art. This award is presented to five artists from each region and is based on the core values of originality, skill, and the emergence of a personal vision. What a huge honor!
This year’s Gold Key winners will go on to be judged at the national level and, if chosen, will be honored at Carnegie Hall in June.
A regional awards ceremony for Gold and Silver Key recipients will be held at 7 PM on Friday, February 2, at SUNY New Paltz’s Studley Theatre. Students’ work will be on display for the entire month of February in the college’s Rotunda Gallery.
