Marlboro students and staff celebrated “Start With Hello Week” recently. This national call-to-action, organized by a nonprofit organization called the Sandy Hook Promise, is designed to teach empathy and empower students to end loneliness and social isolation by following three easy steps:
Step 1: Learn how to recognize the signs of loneliness and social isolation.
Step 2: Find out what you can do to help others feel included.
Step 3: Discover how to break the ice and strike up a conversation.
All across the District, students wore green as a show of unity and participated in classroom activities that focused on kindness. All of it tied in perfectly with this month’s District-wide theme, "Welcome." Bravo to these Marlboro students and staff for taking this important step towards creating kinder, more inclusive schools!
