Robert DeMarco teaches in the planetarium

3...2...1...we have liftoff! This month, Grade 1 students from Marlboro Elementary School had the chance to embark on an unforgettable adventure to space during their field trips to the Marlboro High School (MHS) Planetarium.

The young stargazers were wowed by a virtual journey through the solar system, visiting several planets—all from the cozy comfort of their seats. Inside the cutting-edge planetarium, they also got to track the sun’s movement through the seasons and explore different constellations with the help of MHS Science Department Chair and Planetarium Director, Robert DeMarco.

Earlier in the month, Grade 6 students from Marlboro Middle School also had the opportunity to visit the Planetarium, where DeMarco’s presentation provided them with a firsthand look at many of the fascinating concepts they study as part of their curriculum, including moon phases, comets, asteroids, and meteors.

What a thrilling, hands-on way to dive into the mysteries of space! A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers for always finding creative ways to bring science to life!
