The Marlboro Central School District is pleased to welcome Anishbell Brennan, the new assistant principal of Marlboro High School.
Brennan comes to Marlboro from the Poughkeepsie City School District, where she served as the seventh grade assistant principal at Poughkeepsie Middle School. Prior to that, she worked as a teaching assistant, paraprofessional, and bilingual special education teacher leader in the Bronx.
Brennan graduated from Lehman College, where she majored in Sociology and minored in Early Childhood Education. She went on to earn a master’s degree in Dual Language/General and Special Childhood Education from Bank Street College of Education and another in School Leadership from The College of Saint Rose.
“What drew me to Marlboro is being able to work in a close-knit community that values education and rigor,” Brennan said. “There are great opportunities for students here, and I look forward to being a part of it.”
Brennan said she is planning on spending a lot of time this year building relationships with students, staff, and families. “I truly believe that building positive relationships is the key to success,” she said. “Once those positive relationships are established, everything else will fall into place.”
Brennan said that working in a High School setting will allow her to learn more about the different programs and opportunities that are available to older students. “The ultimate goal is to prepare our students to become great citizens in society, and I can’t wait to make an impact in this community,” she said.
